Kohler Stewardship Project Management Contractor

As a Project Management Contractor for the Kohler Stewardship team in 2018, I supported the implementation of a Kohler Co. emergency shower project plan between Kohler Stewardship and Operation Blessing. Operation Blessing, one of Kohler's strategic partners, provides relief in 39 countries on an ongoing basis through core programs such as disaster relief, health and medical care, hunger relief, and access to safe water.


The primary objective of the Kohler Relief Fleet is to provide clean showering experiences for volunteers in disaster relief areas. Kohler's Innovation for Good team, in partnership with Kohler Stewardship, launched its first Relief Fleet vehicle, a shower trailer, in summer 2018. The showering trailer and eventually the Relief Fleet, will become a centerpiece of Kohler Co. Disaster relief operations in North America.


The trailer was built by Kohler engineers and included product to be used to assist communities affected by natural disasters. In order to train those who worked the trailer for special events, I developed job descriptions and set up instructions for 50+ Kohler associates. I also facilitated 3 volunteer trainings with 100+ associates who would work the trailer for a 5k and a Road America event.

Kohler Corporate Communications Intern

As a Corporate Communications Intern, I had the opportunity to work with the Digital team in an in house agency that supported different brands within Kohler. I was brought on to help redesign the blog and increase associate engagement for the 38,000 employee population. 


Outcomes of my internship:

  • Grew believe.kohler.com blog traffic 10% through content and user experience optimization

  • Drove a 33% improvement in blog engagement, implementing social content best practices

  • Designed a user generated content strategy for consumer and trade audiences and acquired participation from 500 individuals 

  • Presented results to 25 executives who implemented research into campaigns across the country

I designed this campaign to encourage associates to interact with different teams within the Communications building. After seeing whiteboard pictures trending on Buzzfeed, I decided to gather enough people to experiment with the process. 


Ultimately, I took over 150+ associates pictures and my content was displayed at various trade shows, Greenbuild - an environmental conference, and presented internally around campus and globally in various offices.
